WEE School

Purpose
The purpose of the Weekday Early Education Center (WEE) is to extend the ministry of the First Baptist Church by providing education and development opportunities for each child enrolled, helping each child reach his/her greatest potential and by providing a program of ministry and outreach to the families of the children enrolled.

Educational Philosophy
The Weekday Early Education Center seeks to develop the whole child: physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, morally and spiritually through leaning activities and guidance that are age appropriate.

Registration
The WEE Center operates on a non-profit basis and is financially supported by the budget of the First Baptist Church. The Center includes a full time daycare for ages six weeks to four year old. The safety of your child is important to us. All students must be signed in and out and should be walked into the center. Picture I.D. is required for a child to leave the center with anyone listed on the centers transportation sheet. Special permission is required from the parents to anyone not listed on the transportation sheet.

The WEE Center follows the St. Charles Parish Public School calendar and is open Monday- Friday from 6am – 5:30pm, except major holidays. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8am- 5pm. Messages will be taken before and after these hours. Note that in the event of severe weather conditions or man-made disasters, the center may be closed. In this situation, if the public schools are closed, the WEE Center will be closed.

Registration begins in March before the fall term and continues until all places are filled. Children placed on waiting list are added as openings become available.

Please call the office at 985-785-6528 for more information.

Curriculum and Teaching Methods
The Weekday Early Education Curriculum Guides are the basis for our teaching curriculum. The teachers will enhance this material with other resources.

Classrooms are set up in learning centers. Preschoolers may choose from art, blocks, home living, music, nature, puzzles and manipulative where activities are planned to help teach the topics of study.
